ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY

The school's progress to date

Star Smart International School officially opened its doors on Sunday 10th September 2023. The school comprises a kindergarten of KG1 and KG2 (ages 4 and 5) and a primary school of grades 1 to 9. The school will in the future rise to K-12.

There are two campuses, altogether one for the kindergarten and a larger one for the main school. Each campus has it's own playground and artificial turf section for enclosed activities. The campuses also have art studio, indoor sports room, theatre, library, cafeteria and many more facilities.

Curriculum and Teaching Tools

The curriculum includes Cambridge International resources for subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science, along with the Ministry of Education resources for all other local subjects. We utilize the latest teaching tools, such as smart boards in classrooms and various apps, to enhance the standard of education.

The academic year at our school comprises three terms. Each term consists of 13 weeks of classroom studies, with one official quiz for each subject in the middle of the term and end-of-term examinations. Each subject's term results are comprise of 100 marks (30 marks for daily participation, 20 marks for quizzes, and 50 marks for end-of-term written papers).

Daily Schedule and Activities

The daily school schedule is from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, with 7 lessons of 45 minutes each, from Sunday to Thursday. Many educational and recreational activities take place on Saturdays to support both teaching and non-teaching aspects of the school. Breakfast and lunch are provided during each school day, with many students participating.

Student progress is communicated to parents through parent meetings and end-of-term reports. Open communication with parents is maintained, and each year group has its own Telegram channel.

Celebrations and Extracurricular Activities

The school celebrates all local, national, and most international events to encourage students to gain knowledge and understanding of these events. Additionally, the school will offer a summer program featuring recreational activities such as art, sports, and talent development, as well as booster classes for academic subjects like languages, mathematics, and science.
